My Story

I’ve been competing, teaching and coaching since 1976. I first became a compensated instructor in 1980 in Adult Continuing Education at Davidson County Community College. My shooting career includes competition and titles in shotgun, rifle, and pistol. I’m a Distinguished Rifleman and former High Master and I’ve earned awards in almost every shooting discipline as well as for shooting and coaching on a national level.

I’m an NRA Certified Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun instructor and Range Safety Officer. Over the years, I’ve trained instructors and I’ve learned there is a lot more than having a certification to being an effective instructor. An effective instructor must not only know how to shoot, he must be able diagnose the trainees problems and be able to communicate how to resolve them. I consider making better shooters my life’s work and it’s constantly on my mind.

My writing career has allowed me to establish relationships with many of the best shooters in the world and through my experiences with them I’ve been able to improve my ability to transfer skillsets to my clients. I’m proud of the results I get and that’s why I tell my clients that if they don’t feel they learned, I’ll give them their money back.
